Joomocracy is all about user controlled news, similar to Digg.com, but we focus all our stories on the open source content management system, Joomla!.
It's really quite simple and we're not trying to reinvent the web. As a developer of templates, extensions, modules, plugins or anything that is Joomla! related you'll likely come here to submit your news (using that tab above). If you're a user of Joomla! and want to read news that other people are interested in then you'll come here to read what other people are voting on or, in some cases, what isn't getting voted on, by using the search facility and picking up stories based on tagged keywords.
We are doing this for two reasons. Firstly and the most important; we love Joomla!. Secondly and not so important but equally as valid, because it is needed and because we can.
There isn't really one place on the web that you can go to and get the news that you want, on whatever category you want it and when you want it. Well, there is now and we aim to bring it to you in whatever format you want.
We have costs, both in terms of hosting and administration, which need to be met and the revenue generated from Google Ads, Text Link Ads (coming soon) and our sponsors go to covering those costs. Profits from this site will then be donated to Joomla! related projects.
